Peppermint Mani......
So I'm sure you've seen TONS of holiday manis, along with the peppermint/candy cane designs. I wanted to try this design myself, and even though at first I didn't like it, it did finally grow on me. I think my dislike was due to the fact that the lines weren't 100% even. I tend to get a smidge anal when it comes to things like that, but as a friend on MUA said, it's better that they are, because it looks more candy like. If they were perfect it would resemble a barbershop pole, lol. Well, she was right!

Goose, that would def have been a good idea, but I'm kind of crazy when it comes to lines, and the fact they have to be prefect or close to it. I know I would spasm with a skinny striper thing, lolol

This is gorgeous... I wonder if it would work with a red glitter base (like ChG Ruby Pumps) and then adding the white konad stripes to it. Since the glitter polish doesn't stamp well... maybe doing it the opposite way might work. I think I will have to give this a try soon! Yours is really gorgeous! I know this has probably been asked before but, what TC do you use? Your nails are always so shiny! Perfect nails, really!

After almost 50 years of compulsive nail biting, my nails have decided to start growing and I want to make them really special. I love all the new colors, especially Midnight Blue and deep purples. Glittery stuff is beautiful, too. I've done nail art before with a size 000 artist's brush and could probably do it again.... thanks for sharing your ideas... Red glitter stripes are beautiful~!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous nails! I too am wondering how you use tape on your nails. Whenever I try this, the tape takes off the nailpolish underneath when I take the tape off.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone wondering about the tape, I have heard that using masking tape or painters tape(the kind used when painting walls) works the best because they are designed to not stick to paint.

A similar effect can be gotten without the glitter polish by using a deep red then sprinkling with regular glitter while wet, but the white has to be completely dry. I also sometimes find the straight French manicure type strips can be easier to handle than tape, but that may just be me.
