My Official Spirit Day Mani!!! Patchwork Purples

Last night, I couldn't decide on what my purple Spirit Day mani would be. I had thought about the patchwork design for months, and decided to finally try it. What can I say.....I'm in love!!!!  You can read about Spirit Day in my previous post below if you're interested.

I started off with just a plain black

Then I used my trusty scotch tape, and taped my nail off, then used China Glaze LOL

Then again, I taped my nail off, and added China Glaze Grape Pop & this is what it looked like in the end!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this mani!!

What do you all think????  I was asked to do step-by-step instructions with pics, on MUA, so I will be doing a pink version of this tonight. If anyone is interested, I can post them on here as well.
Thanks for looking!

  9. Oh my gosh I love it! This looks so neat. I like how it's nail art but you don't have to be good at freehanding anything. I'm totes going to try this soon.

  10. ABOP, Awww, thank you! I love to give other polish friends ideas. I hope you do try some tape manis, they really are easy & fun!

Amy, Thank you so much! I cannot freehand, so tape is my mani BFF :P Oh and I'm loving the fact that you said 'totes', I say that all the time!!

  11. OMG, this is *amazing*! One of my readers sent me a link to another blog with this type of mani, and when I posted about it on my blog, the lovely jbrobeck told me to check out your blog and here I am! I cannot wait to share this post with my readers. This is so stunning! Did you come up with this idea yourself? It's genius! :D

  12. Thanks G, yeah I came up with this idea. I'm always trying to find new ways to use tape in my manis. I originally posted this on MUA and they all loved it, so the craze went on from there. I lived seeing everyones ideas and color combos, when they tried it out. I will have to thank for spreading the word about my blog, and I'm glad you enjoy it. Thanks so much!

  13. I just did a post and gave you full credit and heaps of praise for this idea! You deserve every bit of it! :D

Now if I could only master the art of the tape removal. I've done three manis so far and every time, at least two of my nails end up paint bleeding under the tape. Hopefully I'll get better with time!

Thanks again for the AWESOME idea. I'm absolutely hooked. xo
