Pink polka dots & the polish that started it all.......

I have done my nails for years, but never ventured out of the regular stock at drugstores, lol. That was until my sister came over with a pedi, that I just LOVED. It was OPI Mod About You. I loved it so much that she got me a bottle, and then I started looking on the internet for other colors. That was when I discovered MUA, and it all went down hill from there. I decided to whip her out again. Now, you wouldn't know it, but pink is actually my FAVE color of all time. I'm not sure why I don't do more pink manis *shrug* maybe I'll start doing them. Okay, back to this mani, this was 2 coats of Mod About You and China Glaze Admire for the design.

  11. Such a pretty mani :) Also, Mod about you was my very first OPI and my.... 3rd (?) polish of all time. but now for some reason it dried weird... like when it dries there are millions of bubbles :/ maybe i shook it too much? also, now it never seems to dry :/ so i can't really use it anymore :( I need to get another one ^_^

  12. That OPI polish shall fall into my sweaty little paws. It's the perfect spring-time pink!

I like the combination of the two pink polishes you used. They complemented each other, yet stood out on their own. How can you tell if two polishes will go well together? Just practice?

  15. Cammy, sorry for some reason, your comment didn't load at first, weird. Anyways, Mod About You is def the BEST pink spring polish, and it's a fave pedi color of mine. As for knowing which polishes will look good together, I will really just lay out polishes side by side, and judge that way. I love to use a cream base and a metalic design.

  16. Thanks everyone!!

Let Them Have Polish, Oh I love pink, and tend to do more. I have also noticed many bloggers don't like a pink mani, and I don't understand why?? It's soooo girl, and some days, I love being uber girly, lol.

Kelly, my original got like that, I have noticed it tends to get thick fairly quickly, but then again I used it tons! I would just add some thinner to it, and that helped mine get back to it's original greatness :)

Cynthia, I actually didn't use a dotting tool, my butt is lazy some days, lol. For this I used a Bundle Monster plate, BM19 :P

  18. Marta, Thank you so much! Those dots are done by a nail stamping process. It's most known as Konading, but Konad is the brand of kit you can purchase. There is also a brand called Bundle Monster. The whole process is fairly simple. When you order either of these, you get some image plates, which are a metal disk, that have about 6 different images on them. You take polish and polish over the image you want to use, in this case polka dots, and then in the kit you are given a scraper. After you polish the image, you take the scraper, and scrape over the image, removing the excess polish. You then grab a stamper, which you can buy or get in a starter kit. It has a rounded rubber top, that you place over the image on the plate, and the design, in polish, tranfers to the rubber tip, you then just stamp the image on your nails :P I'm the WORST at describing things, but there are tons of youtube videos that can show you just how this is done. Just search Konading. Feel free to ask anything else.
    Thanks Erika!!
