looking for a sexy blue???

This is the other Sally Hansen Inst-Dri that I picked up along with Slick Slate. It's called Co-Bolt Blue. I'm in love *sigh*. It's soooo bright and glowy!!! I wanted to Konad with it, but decided to do a quick swatch for you guys first.

Here is my base for my mani, OPI No Room For The Blues, another great blue! Excuse the weird pictures. For some reason the camera INSISTED on turning my skin red for this. I took over 100 pics, and almost threw my camera, lol.

Then using a Bundle Monster plate, finished off my mani :)

  1. I really like the contrast of blues in your NRFTB mani. And the darker Blue is really pretty. I like how glassy it looks.

  2. Aaaah tell me about a sexy blue and I nearly faint!
Now, of course, I wish Sally Hansen's polishes were easily available in France but they are not... some day I'll move out I think ^^

This is a great combo but the Sally Hansen blue is wonderful by itself!!!

  3. The Sally Hansen blue looks gorgeous!

  4. For some reason, I can only wear pinks, reds, and purples. Having any other color (greens, blues, oranges, etc) on my nails...has not been done since like I was ten. XD

Now, I kind of want that dark blue. It's so deep and rich!

  5. I think your camera takes great pics. I've been meaning to ask you what type of camera do you use. I thought you mentioned it before, but it's not in the FAQ.

  6. Thanks you guys!!!

Lolaa, HAHAHAHAHA, I would move too, lol. Yeah, I totally agree, and get sooo frustrated when there are soo many polishes I can't get .

Cammy, OMG!!! I was like that too thoug, only a little over a year ago, but you get used to the other colors, especially thedark ones!

    The main camera I use is a Sony CyberShot - DSC-W120 :)

  7. You should check out Wet n Wild's new Saved by the Blue FastDry. It's another super glowy electric blue.

  8. I love following your blog, you have such a flawless technique. I just started a blog of my own, it is all beauty related. I swear this isn't a shameless plug, I think (after reading all the blogs you do follow) that you would enjoy it. beautynerdsunited.blogspot.com If you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks for being an inspiration!

  9. Such a gorgeous combo! I love the stamping design!

The BM plate images seem to cover your nail perfectly. Do they cover your nail in one stamp or do you have to add more after? If so what's your technique because I always have to try to add more of the stamp and it never looks flawless like yours!

  10. Thanks you guys!!

Jennifer, I had seen that one, hm....I'm not sure why, but I guess it didnt' just stand out to me as much. Might have to go back and look.

MouserNerd, Thank you so much! I will be sure to check your bog out as well P

Brittany, The full nail images on the BM plate, fit all my fingers, except thumbs almost perfect. It's such a pain to try and line them up exactly. My thumbs are the worst, so I tend to just match up as close as I can, and stamp twice. Really, I have no technique, lol. This is when my funky french manis come into great use :P

  11. I'm all over Co-Bolt, but you definitely have a wonderful talent of combining colors and finishes in a single mani. Nice combo. :)

  12. I have to ask where you got that damask design! I have been looking for a konad plate with that design, so if you don't mind pointing me to where I might get my hands on one...

  13. I swatched it here: http://laquerlover.blogspot.com/2011/02/blockbuster-manicure.html

Just give you an idea of how in your face the blue really is lol.

  14. Erika, I've been in the hospital for the past couple of days and your early morning posts have truly helped get me through the night. I can't seem to get any sleep here (between nurses always coming in, the pain, and general hospital noise) so I so look forward to your post at 6 am each morning.

*three hours to kill until your next post, lol*

Anyway, I LOVE that SH blue but when I was at CVS last week, they didn't have it. I need it. Yes, need. And can I just say that that stamped mani looks gorgeous and that's the type of stamping I wish I could do but I just don't have the talent with it yet! I guess I need to keep practicing but it's always frustrating when I can't get it right, lol.

    Gorgeous as always!

  16. Tara, this was a Bundle Monster plate. It came in an amazing set of tons of plates, and cheap, off of Amazon.

Jennifer, Oh yay, I'm off to look.

Tracie, OMG, you are beyond sweet, and I am soooo sorry to hear that you are in the hospital, I hope everything is okay :( I'm just thrilled that I have anything to do, with cheering you up in the morning! That means a lot to me :) As for the stamping, it really is just practise, but once you get it, you'll be hooked!!! Hope your day is going good, and everyting is well with you!! XOXO

    Thanks Smaltoitaliano!

  17. Just a tip for you from me as a photographer....It looks like to me you take a lot of your pics under incandescent lighting....aka regular lightbulb house lighting and that's what gives a warm cast to photos. There should be a setting on your camera for such lighting along with "sun", "cloudy", Shade...etc. Switching it to the lightbulb looking icon should fix the color balance. Lighting as color temperatures to it which is why it shows up with different casts in photos.

On another note thanks for posting your nail looks. I love them! You do such a perfect job and you have perfect nails. Mine keep peeling and breaking and I so badly want to replicate the mani you did with Lincoln Park After Dark and the BM lips plate. It's sooo cool!!

  18. Flaminbird, Thanks for the tips, but if I only have an issue here and there, I'm cool, I'm not even trying to be a professional, lol. Yep, my pics are taken under a regular bulb, as I sit my butt on my couch, lol. All I really care about, is that my pictures are color accurate, and I'm 99% happy most of the time :P

  19. I generally am a purple and pink girl with some reds and sparkles mixed in their for fun but OMGoodness!!! That SH blue is bananas! I went out and bought it yesterday and now I want to go and buy a back up!! It is so pretty I can't stop looking at my nails! I had to text and send pictures to my friends because I'm so in love with it! Great choice! Your nails always look fantastic and you have opened my world up to alot of colors just because of how great they look on you!

  21. Thanks you two!!

Zmunda, oh YAY, I'm glad I can be a part of you trying new colors!!!

  22. I'm ok! Back home now, actually :). I had to have surgery and they kept me for a couple days because I was in a lot of pain. Hospitals suck because they mean no nail polish! Haha, I was sitting there just JONESIN' for my polish collection while reading your blog. I ended up buying a bunch of polish from transdesign at like 5 am this morning. I'm like a crack addict except polish is my crack. They took me away from it for a few days and then I binged as soon as the nurses left me alone long enough to do some internet shopping :P.

  23. I love both of these blues, great choices!

  24. Tracie, oh good, I'm glad to hear you're home. OMG, I understand, if I was taken away from polish for any amount of time, teh minute I was free, watch out! lol.

    Thanks P&P :)

  26. Justin, thank you so much and welcome!! I ALWAYS use SV, Seche Vite, for my top coat. If I had to pick a 2nd fave it would def be Poshe! I actaually just started using a base coat, and it's Gelous, so far I love it!

  31. Hey Erika, i was wondering since you seem to know so much about nail polish if you could tell me if you know of a blue colour that when put on the nail is so dark its almost black but in the sun its amazingly bright and/or sparkly blue? I used to have one but the company went out of business and now i cant find one like it anywhere, any ideas?( i live in Australia by the way).

  32. Lina, You can try Stormy from Sinful. It kind of reminds me of what you're describing. It's very dark black base with dark blue glitter in it, and in the sun the glitter comes alive. I'm not sure if SInful is available in your area though.
