Essie French Affair

While on one of my trips to Rite Aid, I saw that they had a new tiny Essie display. Now, I'm not the biggest Essie fan. I'm not sure why, but I think that the $8 a bottle for not so unique colors is why. I can't even tell you guys my reasoning for grabbing this one, because it is in no way unique IMO, but I did, lol. It is a great pink though, and the application was great too. This is 2 coats of Essie French Affiar. Then for the tips I used Love & Beauty Grey.

  5. What a gorgeous combination! I love the gray tips. I was hoping you'd do something fun with your tips. Some of my favorite of your manis have different colored tips (is this still considered funky french?).

  6. Thanks you guys!!

Zmunda, Ooh, good question. I would def say Mod About You is maybe slightly lightly and more chalky, but I can compare them side by sde tonight for you, and I'll just edit this post with a picture.

Tracie, Thanks & yeah any non white colored tip is still called a funky french :)

  7. I never buy Essie because I hate how the bottles look. I do have their Matte About You topcoat, though.

  9. I adore this mani :) The color combo is amazing, and I espeacilly loved that you used a metalic polish on the tips, gives it an awesome twist!

  10. Another great manicure Chloe. Beautiful pink colour although I wouldn't pay that much for a polish either.

  12. Thanks you guys!!

    *waves* hey there Musicalhouses

phbmum, yeah I know, I don't see why they are so pricey. I mean if the colors were out of this world, I wouldn't care so much, but they def are not.

Josie, I will say that if you do, I think you'll love it. I really like this color!

  13. Pretty and feminine! : D

I agree, I'm not a big Essie fan myself. I could get cheaper polishes that are more unique.

  14. Ive always thought that about essie! Thought after I babysit and get more money I'm going to probably buy a pink from there, becasue they do have like 100 !!

Also I'm very impatient and heard that after doing one coat of polish if you stick your fingers in ice water for 5-10 seconds it drys faster, so you can put on your second coat. Have you ever head of this???

  15. Hi Erika! I love, love, love your blog, especially the tape manis and glitter ones. I literally just started my own blog, you're actually part of the reason to through with it. I also mentioned you in my first real post, it's a striped tape mani and I wonder what you think of it. That's http://nailside.blogspot.com/. Hope you like it!

  17. Thanks you guys!!

Sarah, I have heard that, but I don't wait at all to apply my 2nd coat, lol. I'm way too impatient.

Jane, thank you!! I will go check it out!

tellemitsace, hahahaha. I did use a light hand when applying, but was actaully shocked it wasn't as sheer or streaky as others of theirs I've tried.
