Ombre mani

Morning guys!! Now as some of you may have seen on TV, or fashion magazines, Ombre hair is a pretty big trend now, and I've seen Ombre nails done quit a bit on Makeupalley.com, so I went ahead and tried one as well. I chose to do a Black to White ombre. Ombre, is just going from the lightest of a color to the darkest.

Here are the colors I chose:

Thumb - OPI Alpine Snow Matte w/ SV on top, sorry, I completely forgot to take a pic of it :( I FAIL
Pointer - Dr. REMEDY Heather Grey
Middle - Pure Ice Kiss Me Here
Ring - Franken of Kiss Me Here & Sinful Black on Black.
Pinky - Sinful Black on Black

So what do you guys think? Have you done an Ombre mani? I was actually really loving this mani!!

Would you try this one in some other colours?

  3. Ahhhh, I LOVE this! I don't think I have two grays similar enough to do this, though. I probably have enough blues though!

I'm not a big fan of ombre hair, tbh. Sure, Drew Barrymore can pull it off, but I'm not sure many other people can. If I saw a chick in my town with hair like that, I'd just think she needed to fix her dye job, LOL.

  29. Oh I definitely want to try this! I think I'm short of one shade to complete the ombre look though. But I saw that your ring finger is a franken. I'm not sure if you've already posted a tutorial on this but can you teach us how you franken your nail polishes? :) Love this look!

  40. I love this mani! I will definitely have to try to do one.

  41. Thanks you guys!!! I will def be sure to try this with different colors!!

Amanda, The term 'Franken' comes from Frankenstein. Since you're taking different colors to make a new one :)

Annette, all I did for this was, grab a plastic bag, and drop a few drops of black on it, then a few of the grey, and just mix enough on the bag, to do 2 nails.

  42. great color choices and awesome job on making a good ombre!

  43. Love it!! I so wanna try this now with blues

  44. Hi, Erika! I have all of the colors, minus your franken. Do you think Sally Hansen's "Grey Area" would work on the ring finger? Or, I've also got Zoya's "Kelly". Or do you think these are too purple?
I'm on a kickball league, and our first game is tomorrow. Our team color is charcoal, so I'm planning on doing this mani tomorrow!!!! Thanks for the great posts!

Katie, I think they might be slightly too purple. I have Grey Area, and almost used it, but decided not to.
