Matte Checkers....

Happy Thursday!! I've wanted to do this mani for a while, but it just felt as though something always came up. Well last night I finally got to. Now you all know I love my matte polishes and tape. So here you go -
I only used Sinful Black on Black and Essie Matte About You, and well tape of course :)
I started with a coat of Black on Black then a coat of SV. After about 10 minutes I started the matte top coat process :)

  9. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Did you start with the gloss coat or the matte? I've been unsucessful with the tape method, but maybe I'll get someone to help me out. I'm so impatient - I smear everything!

  23. I love matte glossy combos! This looks great. I did a black glossy/matte mani once, but instead of checkers I did matte dots <3

    Don't you think SC Black On Black is really watery? Or maybe I just have a bad one...

    1. The newer ones I buy are a tad thin, but I just leave the cap off for like 30 min, and it thickens it up :)

  25. I love that! I do have a question, though. I'm very new to the world of pretty nails... What is "SV?" I'm guessing it's some sort of top coat as you use it on almost everything, but I don't know what SV stand for, and thus do not have this basic.

  53. I love this! This is probably a stupid question but do you put a top coat over the matte polish? I'm afraid it would take the matte look away but I don't want the matte to chip faster than the gloss...
