Taking the idea from my past 2 Shredded Manis, I decided to try another, using different finishes. I chose OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark Matte, and just SV for the shiny parts. I used the same techinque that can be seen here. I am seriously LOVING this!! It looks sooo bad a$$ to me!.
Love the effect of the shiny and matte. What piece of paper do you have in your hand. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI think that's the matte tag on the bottle. I leave mine on, too. Chloe, that is awesomeness. I am becoming a Chloe-copycat.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of ppl are becoming Chloe-copycats! You're freaking brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWOW this is really nice! I LOVE IT!

ReplyDeleteso cool! i love the shiny on matte designs. what a great way to do it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kalee!
ReplyDeletei have a question about this. i just tried to do this and i was having problems with the tape. i made sure that before i did anything i un-stuck it on my palm like you do, and after the cutting, applying, polishing, etc....when i go to peel off the tape (slowly and before the polish dries) the tips of the little spikes are breaking off and sticking to my nails... =\
ReplyDeletei dont know what im doing wrong...
Kalee, are you making sure to only do 1 nail at a time? You polish all your nails the base solor, the when your tape is ready, you only put 1 piece on 1 nail, quickly put the 2nd polish on and then remove the tape. Then you move on to your 2nd nail. If the polish even semi dries at all, the tape can tear. Also if your base is 100% hardened and dry, this can happenl. Also, when removing the tape, make sure to grab the side, opposite of where made your cuts, and pull in the direction of your cuts. Hope this helps, if not please let me know :)
ReplyDeletethanks for getting back to me!!! i did try one nail at a time, and im pulling it off the right way. buuuut i think maybe because i tried this 24 hours after i painted my nails so they were already 100% dry. so maybe that might be it? also im not sure if this may not be helping but i used china glaze 'millenium' and it does dry quick, but i am painting fast and pulling off right away. hmm. i will try it again real soon (have glitter on atm, staying on for awhile until im up for removal), so when i do ill let you know what happens. lol. hopefully i get it right. =P
ReplyDeletethank you
Kalee, yeah, if I try to do a scotch tape mani, a day after I have done my base, it tears all the time, and just ends up making me angry, lol. Please do try again, and let me know how it goes :P
