How Konad killed my mani....

**EDIT** I just wanted to let you all know, I have added a 'FAQ' tab up above, under the header

So I invisioned this mani looking WAY differently in my head, lol. Which happens quit often. This is one of those times that the Konad just took it to a whole new level, and not a good one. For this mani I used Sinful Easy Going, Orly Purple Fusion, Sally Hansen Pink Petal and scotch tape. I just love this, before the Konad.
Oh well, I'm always up to try things. Here it is, after the mani killer was added!

This was how I started. I used Sinful's Easy Going

Then taped it off, and added Sally Hansens Pink Petal

Then to finish of the pink gradient, I used Orly Purple Fusion

Now for the stripes. I used Bundle Monster plate BM20 and Konad's special polish in Black.

After each layer, I used a coat of SV, Seche Vite. This helps the layers dry quicker, so it doesn't take too long.

  3. Looks perfect to me.
For a complete nail design on black, I use Wet n Wild "Black Cream", it's very pigmented and more easy to clean than konad special polish.

  4. Thanks girls!!

Carolina, yeah I really do like the black WnW, and my fave to Konad with is actually Sinful's Black on BLack. At this time though, my stash is a wreck, lol. It's sooo unorganized :( I couldn't seem to find either the WnW or Sinful, so I just grabbed the Konad, which I NEVER use, just cause clean-up is pain! I'm having a custom case built for my stash, and I can't wait, hopefully I'll have it in a few weeks and I can finally get organized again :P

  6. I -like- it with the stripes, but I much prefer it with just the gradient. :3 So it goes! It's still a lovely mani. :D

  10. Thanks you guys. I guess I just had it pictured different in my head, and that's why I don't love it. I do like it, I just prefer it before the Konad :)

  11. your nails are beautiful! does it take you a long time to do this?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Aww, thanks MM!! This took me about an hour. I really don't like to spend a lot of time on a mani. Using, SV really helps speed up the process.

  13. Oh Chloe... I love it. Just like I love everything you do!! I too did a mani inspired by you the other day ... and I finally got some sv ... which is amazing. Thanks for all your pointers and inspiration!!!!!!!!!

  15. You must go through a bottle of SV a week, lol. I use it once a day and I go through it super duper fast and I only do one or two coats per mani! I really like it before the Konad. I've been practicing Scotch Tape manis but I still haven't perfected it. Any tips?

  16. Probably should have checked your new FAQ before I asked for scotch tape mani tips! Thanks for adding the FAQ :)

  18. Thanks ladies!!!

Tracie, I do go through tons of SV, lol, but it's so worth it to me. I actually have about 8 bottles at home, and 7 are like half full, lol. You're very welcome, I'm hoping that the FAQ page helps you all out. Honestly though, if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  19. Very pretty with the 3 pinks :) It's like each finger has its own ombre mani going on!

  20. Hi Chloe, thanks so much for showing us this mani, it's lovely :-) also - I enjoyed reading your new FAQ page, it was really helpful.

I have a question though - if you're applying SV between layers of polish do you not get shrinkage? or bubbles? what with all the layers of polish?

I must try out a scotch tape mani at some point. ;-)

    Cheers!

  21. Thanks Danielle!

Rabbit, oh good, I'm glad the FAQ was helpful! Shrinkage really only happens, or so I hear, if the SV is applied, after the polish has dried, and if you don't wrap your tips. SV should only be used on wet nails. Some ladies, apply a different top coat, then SV.
