St. Patty Patchwork

Okay, so I'll take a break from the Crackles *sigh* lol. Well since St. Patricks Day is coming up, isn't it, and I have a brand new St. Patty's Day polish from Five Below, I figured I should do a green Patchwork mani. For this I used OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, Funky Fingers Erin & Sinful Black on Black.

I started with 3 coats of Gargantuan Green Grape, 3, yep you heard right 3 freaking coats, man I forgot how much of a PITA this was. Oh well.

Then I taped them off, and added the Funky Fingers Erin. Such a pretty sparkly green, which I can say, I don't own anything like it. I then added a coat of SV.

For my final color, I added my fave go to black from Sinful. and another coat of SV

I am loving this soooo much!!!! If you are looking for a How-To on this, I have one posted up above in my 'Tutorials' tab.

  23. When I tried to use the tape, it lifted my base coat. I THOUGHT I let it dry completely.. about 5 minutes or so before I tried to tape it off (and yes I dabbed it on my palm a few times to get the stickiness off)... How long do you normally suggest to wait before taping off the nail? OH, and how do you do such a perfect cleanup job around your cuticles?

  24. Beautiful manicure. I have a similar colour on. May I try out your mani on my nails?

  25. Thanks girls!!!

Kellie, did you use a quick dry top coat after your base polish? That helps me tons. I use SV, and wait anywhere from 5-8 minutes. As for clean up, I actaully don't do any :) That is actually just how I polish.

pkbmum, omg, of course you can try this out. This is teh main reason I do my blog, to hopefully inspire some and give out my ideas.

  26. Cute! How do you get the lines SO perfectly straight? Whenever I try to do this the polish bleeds under the tape :P

  29. Anon, It's all about making sure your ends of the tape are 100% down. In my 'Tutorials' tab up above, I show you exactly what I mean :)

Julie, Oh yay, I can't wait to check it out!

ABOP, yeah me too, kind of, but for some reason I can't seam to leave my black out of most my manis, lol.
